FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Cliff Valley School is committed to enrolling a well-qualified and diverse student body. Financial assistance is designed to attract and enroll students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Decisions regarding financial assistance are made separately from admissions decisions.

Cliff Valley utilizes a service provided by Community Brands to assess a family’s ability to contribute to educational expenses. The School and Student Service (SSS) for financial assistance serves over 2,000 schools and its Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) is the cornerstone of the application process.

Financial assistance is based solely on demonstrated need as determined by the financial assistance committee, which relies primarily on the analysis provided by SSS, as well as by Cliff Valley’s availability of funds as approved annually by the board of trustees.

When applying for financial assistance, all household members must complete the application and provide financial information. This includes but is not limited to all parents, whether married, separated, or divorced, and any adult relatives living with the student either part- or full-time.

HOW TO APPLY

Families interested in applying for financial assistance should take the following steps:

  1. Applications for financial aid are due on February 1 with supporting documentation due by the end of February. Visit the SSS website to begin your application. There is a $60 fee that must be paid online (Cliff Valley School does not provide waivers).

On the PFS, you will indicate which schools should receive your information. This way, you only have to fill out one form to apply to several schools. Cliff Valley School’s code is 2132. If you have any problems, call the toll-free helpline at (800) 344-8328.

  2. The school will receive the Report of Family Contribution once the application and supporting documents have been submitted. You may also request that the SSS send you its evaluation of your PFS.

  3. The school uses the SSS results to make its financial assistance decisions.
