We are excited to offer CV summer camps for six weeks during the summer of 2023!

DAILY CAMP HOURS: Most camps begin at 9 am and end at 1 pm. Rock Band Camp and Outdoor Adventures have longer hours so please see their descriptions for details.

BEFORE & AFTER CARE: Before care is available from 8-9 am for $52/week, and after care is from 1-5 pm for $235/wk.

CANCELLATION DEADLINE: No refunds are available after May 5.

WEEK 1: JUNE 5-9

  • Camp Cliff Valley is a time to enjoy open-ended fun led by our own Cliff Valley staff. Campers will discover and uncover knowledge through experiences including fine and gross motor activities, art explorations, music and movement and collaborative games. Campers will enjoy a new theme each week. Creativity will be abundant through tactile and interactive play. Please dress your child in appropriate clothing for messy fun!

  • Hola! Jambo! Sawatdee! Calling all global and adventurous travelers. Grab your passports and join us for an around the world staycation where we will explore the music, dance, art, languages, and games of exotic lands. Each day we will travel to a new exciting country and expand our cultural horizons. Adios! Arrivederci! Goodbye!

  • Enter the magical world of castles, enchanted forests, and imaginative creatures. Campers will draw dragons, build castles, and mix magic paint potions.

  • Come on down (if the Price is Right)! Do you think you have what it takes to be a contestant on a game show? Quiz show? Be the ultimate Wordle champion? If so, come join our interactive and puzzling camp!

    In this camp we will participate in group games, individual puzzle competitions, and hone in on our knowledge of a variety of topics. It's sure to be a whammy of a good time!

  • Let’s work on the fundamentals of volleyball! We’ll spend lots of time on the basics of passing, setting, hitting, serving, and knowing where you are on the court. Every day we will set up the nets and also have some fun in a scrimmage.

    This camp is suitable for those interested in learning the game as well as those improving their skills. As always, good sportsmanship will be our number one priority.

  • Discover the many awesome day hikes around the Atlanta area. We choose different hiking locations every summer so join us as we explore the trails we’ve selected for 2023. Also new this year is a day of Climbing at Stone Summit Gym.

    Campers should come wearing weather-appropriate clothing and shoes suitable for walking longer distances over uneven terrain. Campers are expected to carry their own day packs with plenty of water and a lunch we will eat on the trail. Rain contingency plans will involve hands-on activities for various outdoor skills, sports, and games on site at Cliff Valley.

WEEK 2: JUNE 12-16

  • It’s time to get ready for Kindergarten! A balance of learning, playing and following the daily routine will help prepare your child for the Kindergarten year to come. Campers will gain awareness and confidence for when they enter the classroom the first weeks of school. They also will have a chance to meet new friends and make connections that will carry over into the school year.

  • Mo Willem is the author and illustrator of some of our favorite stories. Let's spend the week getting to know him and his characters. We will read his stories, learn about his process, and create art inspired by the adventures of Elephant, Piggie, Knufflebunny and Pigeon.

  • "Doctor, I have a problem ... every time I say abracadabra, someone disappears ... Doctor, doctor are you there?" Hocus pocus and abracadabra. Join us for a week of exploration into the world of magic. Learn and create a variety of magic tricks sure to wow your friends and family.

  • Have you ever played Luta de Galo in Brazil? Tchouck Ball in Switzerland? Diebeke Skununu in South Africa? No? Come join us for a journey around the globe as we learn and play some unique and fun international games and sports.

  • Grab your digital camera and come join the fun! Learn some of the basics of digital photography and post processing, and experiment with light, subject, and composition to create and tell different stories through images. Have fun capturing moments around Cliff Valley and practicing what you learn at home. It's a snap!

    *Equipment needed: A DSLR camera and a computer are required for this camp. No phone cameras. Students should have any necessary cables or converters to transfer pictures to their computers. Students may also find their camera manual to be useful.

  • Inspired by shows like Chopped, Iron Chef, and The Great British Baking Show, we will compete in partners and teams to use creativity and basic cooking skills to produce tasty dishes.

    Worried that you don't know much about cooking? NO PROBLEM! We will use this as an opportunity to develop basic kitchen understandings such as safe practices for cutting, chopping, and slicing, what science is behind baking a sweet treat, and how to use standard kitchen equipment. We can't wait to use this as a week to work on becoming more self-sufficient and independent cooks, as well as participate in some friendly- and hopefully tasty- competition!

WEEK 3: JUNE 19-23

  • Come explore different styles of dance and movement as a tool for storytelling. Campers will play theater games, learn choreography and create their very own dance pieces in collaboration with peers. Get ready to stretch, move, imagine, and have fun!

  • Come spend the week playing a variety of indoor and outdoor games ranging from board games to PE class favorites to classic sports - some with a fun new twist! Come prepared to learn, laugh, run, show good sportsmanship and have a great time!

  • Put me in, coach! Are you interested in learning more about how to play Ultimate? This camp will be a great opportunity for new and returning players to hone their frisbee skills. We will work on fundamentals and emphasize the concept known as the "Spirit of the Game", which teaches students how to communicate and advocate for themselves and their teammates. This will be an active and action-packed camp!

  • Join us as we learn about and explore the woods around CV including the different creatures who live there - both real and mythical. On Friday we will ride the CV bus to visit another nearby forest to investigate all of its wonder and enjoy a picnic amidst the woodland magic. Bring your curiosity, imagination and sense of adventure.

  • Do you want to run sound and lights at Cliff Valley events? Interested in theater tech, band setup, or just think gaffer’s tape sounds like loads of fun? Join the AV Club Camp!

    We’ll explore the physics of light and sound, how to make things sound and look good on a stage, and how to get the most out of a band’s live performance. When you’re done, you’ll be fully qualified to run sound and lights for school assemblies, theater productions, and small band setups.

  • Outdoor Adventures is a day camp focused on exploring natural land wonders throughout the state of Georgia and nearby states. Our week will include ziplining, spelunking (caving) in Racoon Mountain and hiking the Sawnee Mountain Indian Seats and Yonah Mountain trails.

    Note: This camp begins at 8 am and will return to school after 1 pm some days. A detailed schedule will be sent the week before camp starts.

WEEK 4: JUNE 26-30

  • The actual Olympics may not be happening this summer, but they are at Cliff Valley! Come learn a bit about the Olympics and enjoy some familiar and new Olympics inspired games. We’ll train to become gold medalists, make some Olympic themed crafts and celebrate a wonderfully athletic week on Friday with our own closing ceremonies.

  • Are you curious about the world around you? Do you like thinking about how things work? Do you enjoy mixing things together to create other things?

    Become a scientist for the week and discover the answers to some of your questions. We’ll spend the week conducting experiments and testing hypotheses. We’ll use our senses to observe, measure, record data and communicate our findings all while having lots of fun!

  • Campers will develop skills in acting, vocals, dance and theatrical design as they explore current and classic Broadway shows. The week will end with a classroom showcase for family and friends.

  • Have you ever wondered what inspired humans and helped them develop the technology to create an airplane that can fly thousands of feet in the air? What about how concepts of aerodynamics play into building submarines that can dive deep into the ocean?

    At this camp, we will be learning about how our natural environment inspired some of humankind's greatest inventions through hands-on building challenges and competitions. We will use recycled and repurposed materials to increase the efficiency of pre-existing inventions, and also spend time creating our own inventions to make life easier!

    We can't wait to explore the concepts of engineering and enhance our perseverance to solve problems with creative solutions!

  • If you’re a musician that’s interested in learning about music creation, recording, production, and all the ways we utilize music technology at Cliff Valley, don’t miss Music Tech Camp!

    We will be working on creating music from scratch on our own personal devices, exploring techniques to make it stand out from the crowd, and introducing methods of polishing it up and making it sound “radio ready”!

    By the time the week’s over, you’ll have an absolute bop of a track ready to share with your friends, family, and even the world!

  • Outdoor Adventures is a day camp focused on exploring natural water wonders throughout the state of Georgia and nearby states. Our week will include a natural water slide, exploring Amicalola Falls, kayaking, tubing and whitewater rafting. Proficient swimming skills are a must for this camp.

    Note: This camp begins at or before 8 a.m. and will return to school at or after 3 pm every day. A detailed schedule will be sent the week before camp starts.

WEEK 5: JULY 10-14

  • Camp Cliff Valley is a time to enjoy open-ended fun led by our own Cliff Valley staff. Campers will discover and uncover knowledge through experiences including fine and gross motor activities, art explorations, music and movement and collaborative games.   • Join us as we travel back millions of years to the beginning of the Earth. Our journey will take us to the prehistoric world of volcanoes and dinosaurs where we will discover the ways of primitive human life.

  • Let's spend the week exploring the world of cooperative board games where players work together to achieve a common goal.

    We have chosen a series of novel, innovative titles encompassing both “single session” play times as well as immersive narrative stories that will unfold throughout our week together. Join us for a week of fun, friendship, and teamwork!

  • Explore our “Empire State of the South” and learn about its history through daily field trips around Atlanta.

    Hop on the Atlanta Trolley tour to start the week with a 90-minute narrated tour to get a general overview of our complex city. Then, the group will experience all of the interactive and enlightening exhibits that the Atlanta History Center has to offer, including the Swan Coach House and the Cyclorama.

    We will explore the history of women through a guided tour of Oakland Cemetery, and do another walking tour to uncover the history of the Ponce Corridor.

    Finally, we will cap it all off with a tour of the King Center and Sweet Auburn, exploring how our city was a major center for the Civil Rights Movement. Each day, we will enjoy lunch in one of Atlanta’s picturesque parks, which each hold history of their own.

    Let’s experience these local wonders together!

WEEK 6: JULY 17-21

  • Join us for a week-long gardening club. No green thumb required!

    Students will help tend to the school garden, learn planting techniques, explore what’s growing on the nature trail and discover how much gardens can provide.

  • 3…2…1… Blast off! Get ready to explore the wonders of space through hands-on activities and investigation, crafts and read-alouds. We will traverse the solar system and explore all things astronomical under the sun and beyond.

  • Camp Techwise will focus on developing computer skills for younger students that they can then use in their classrooms to assist teachers and students.

    We'll practice typing skills, learn how to use Google programs for word processing and presentations, and hone simple online research skills.

    Throughout the week campers will also have the opportunity to learn to use Scratch Programming and work with Shapegrams. Students who successfully complete the course will become certified members of the CV Techwise team!

  • Discover the world of fiber arts! Campers will explore traditional and contemporary fiber arts methods such as knitting, crochet, felting, needlework, stitching, weaving and more. Students will have fun using different techniques and exploring various fiber materials, such as yarn, wool roving, and string to create their projects.
